(CUSP)

Course Outline
Given the increased complexity, intensity and frequency of disasters and crises, NEMA has developed a strategic planning tool to make sense of complex issues related to crises and disasters using a national perspective.
This tool can be modified and customised to suit any region and meet any operation or crisis in the form of Crisis Understanding & Strategic Planning or ‘CUSP’ TOOL
Target Audience
• Emergency and Crisis Managers and Teams, Business Continuity Teams,
• Managers of Corporate Risk
• Company CEO’s, Country Managers and Business Unit Managers
• Non-Governmental Organisation Leaders
• Military or Defence personnel
Alignment
Based on the Best Practices, the Australian Government’s CASP Guidebook and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Australia’s National Disaster Management Organisation.
Aim
To equip learners with the skills to analyze, plan, and execute strategic responses to crises using the CUSP methodology.
Objectives
The objectives of this program is to create greater awareness and understanding of the need for strategic planning both before and during a crisis. Upon completion of the course participants will be able to:
• Understand and apply the CUSP methodology
• Define crisis environments and develop strategic plans.
• Define The Environment
• Conduct Strategic Analysis
• Use a CUSP tool to collect and share critical crisis related information
• Develop Courses of Action
Pre-requisite
There are no pre-requisites for this program.
Appraisal Process (Desktop Exercise)
This is a no pass or fail outcome however instructors will establish Learner understanding by way of a practical exercise with interactive discussion and debriefing including Q and A conducted at the end of the training day.
Certification
Learners will receive a UK registered NOCN Certificate Level 3.
Certificates are awarded from the UK and will be forwarded post course in soft copy to the individuals and/or the employer’s point of contact.
